The-Super-Flash-Bros's News

Posted by The-Super-Flash-Bros - June 27th, 2014

Hello everyone!

After an incredibly quick Greenlight campaign and months of extra development work, Haunt the House: Terrortown is out on Steam! There's a 10% discount on right now, for the Steam sale:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/270630

Not only that, but the new Detective Grimoire game is coming out on Steam next month too!

I promise our next game won't be a sequel to one of our old Flash games! In fact, it's called RainStorm Rivals, and you can see some of Dim's art for it here.

The best way to keep up with what we're doing these days is to follow me and/or Dim on twitter!

Cheers,
Tom-

Hello everyone!

So Dim and I are still out here making games, as a part of the industry we once so cruelly mocked. Thursday was a big milestone for us though, our first commercial game for PC!

Haunt the House: Terrortown is a sequel to the Flash game you might have played here 3 Halloweens ago, and while it's been out on PS Vita since January, not all to many people have Vitas so we decided to release it for Windows and Mac too!

We're self publishing it via the Humble store on our own site, so 95% of each sale goes straight to us, to help us make more games.

Some of you might have seen that Danny and Ross from Game Grumps/Steam Train did a great video of them playing the game, if not you should check it out.

Otherwise, check out the site, and if you like the look of it, maybe pick up a copy!

Cheers,
Tom-

We have a brand new trailer for our upcoming mystery adventure game, Detective Grimoire! It shows of some of the story, some music, some characters, some menus and some puzzles!

The trailer can be viewed on our new official website for the game, DetectiveGrimoire.com

Right now I'm being sent lots of voice acting from various talented voice actors, including Arin "Egoraptor" Hanson and Josh Tomar. I'm animating the conversations in the game, it's coming together very well, they are fun to watch back and should be bringing a lot of a life to a dialogue-based game like this one. The original Flash game only have a few grunts and sighs, so we've moved on a lot since then!

We've been working crazy-hard on our latest game, Detective Grimoire. Its the biggest project we've ever undertaken! I think we've gathered up every last voice actor now (Egoraptor and Josh Tomar amongst them, of course) and we have an amazing composer, too - Raphael Meyer

Hop on over to the Grimoire Blog to see some little videos and lots more images of characters, background art, menus, etc. I hope to have a proper Youtube trailer showing up pretty soon!

Detective Grimoire Continues

Posted by The-Super-Flash-Bros - December 30th, 2010

Tom and I continue to work hard on Detective Grimoire (2), since he's down for the Christmas period and we're working in the same room again, just like old times! Its a little bit special.

So please head on over to the Grimoire Development Blog to see a mixture of designs, characters, backgrounds, and even some animation now! And a lot more on the way soon :)

This Detective Grimoire game is set in a mysterious swamp. A home for some, a day at work for others; its a place hiding more than one or two secrets.

Coming 2011!

-Lots of love, Dim & Tom x

Our Adventure-Game Adventure

I'm not sure we're using the "2" for the title but I thought that was the most enticing name for this post :)

I've been putting more artwork up over at the Detective Grimoire Blog

We have a second artist involved for the first time ever, a very talented friend from my University days (last year) and she's producing the background art. Its really beautiful and there are a lot of great sketches and colour tests to get you excited!

And there are some characters from me, as well :)

-Dim

P.S Thanks for all the Haunt-The-House love, we'll make a sequel next Halloween, okay? x

Hello everyone!

Yes....we've been gone for a while...but we've just released a brand new game "Haunt the House". Its really fun so go check it out!!

You play as a poltergeist and the aim of the game is to scare all the guests away from your mansion. Its a real collaboration between myself and Tom since it has awesome complicated AI and lots of hand drawn animation. Let us know what you think! I attached a screenshot :)

In other, just-as-exciting news, we're going to officially announce the development of a new Detective Grimoire project!
I'm aware we've attemped to make this happen in the past, but I can assure you everything is lined up for us this time. Its going to be very special - and I've set up a simple development blog where you can see frequent updates of art, concepts, and anything we're working on, so go check that out:

DetectiveGrimoire.blogspot.com

keep your eyes on that site (and this one) for more information soon :)

Thanks!

Ghosts and Grimoires

Posted by The-Super-Flash-Bros - October 14th, 2010

Hey guys,

Dim and I have reformed the old band! Well, we never really split up, but what with university and full time contracts, we haven't had much SFB time. But that's all changing! We have some pretty exciting projects coming up, the first one being a game for halloween that we're finishing up now.

More details on that stuff later, but first something I did down in Brighton a few weeks back. No, not men. I was at a conference called Flash on the Beach. This was my second time, and somehow I found myself with a 3 minute presentation slot in Brighton Dome, in front of around 800 people! So I decided to present as3sfxr, my sound generating app/library I wrote last year, and Dim helped me put together some 8-bit graphics (SOME! I did a bunch too!)

And now you can watch it right here!

Turns out people really liked it, so much so that I've been invited back to present for a full hour next year! Which is kinda scary, but an amazing honour.

So that's what I've been up to, more news on games and things very soon.

WE'RE BACK BABY!

Tom-
